Elliot Minor – Solaris

The return of Elliot Minor happens so soon after last year’s self-titled debut album, which turned heads with a surprising amount of maturity in both the arrangement and composition of each track.
The band return on August 10th with new single ‘Solaris’. The same formula that made them stand out in the first place, only this time something is majorly wrong. At first listen everything sounds promising but with further listens the song becomes stale and weak. In fact if you took away the orchestra elements of the song it would instantly make this throwaway material. It’s a shame because early promise was shown with their first album (even though most people wouldn’t admit it.) However there isn’t any progression in sound based on this song alone.
To sum up a poor song, that feels half done. Let’s hope the album is better (if you’re a fan that is).
