Now this is more like it!
Proceed, a band I was completely unaware of, have surprised me beyond measure. There is literally nothing I dislike about this album, even a few listens under close scrutiny. Every song is a winner on its own merit, the whole package brimming with talent and heart.
An album littered with hardcore, ear-bashing moments shouldn’t sound this good, the contrasting vocal styles never out-staying their welcome and fitting perfectly within the tone of each track.
Sometimes brutal, sometimes beautiful, always compelling…there are not enough good things I can say about it.
Out of them all, Swemo is probably the stand out track on offer here, but the skill and energy on show ensures your attention will not wander. These guys deserve to be huge.
